I am a novice blogger, very new to this world and just testing the waters. I am giving myself until January 2009 to see where this new world will take me. I am not earning from this blog, at least not yet. But I plan to venture in that area someday. For now, reading comments seem to make me happy (or sad if there's none).
How about you? As a blogger, what fulfills you?
A. Earning satisfies me
B. Comment satisfies me

I CHOOSE A.
Ive been a blogger for 2 years but I am currently not as active as before because of other commitments. Indeed, blogging can be a good source of income; others consider it as their bread and butter. I have made a few bucks from blogging alone- not as much as my cousin-in-law is making, but good enough to compensate my intellectual ideas.hehehe
well i choose A and C.
i started blogging basically because i wanted to be read. i started a blog of reviews, because i want to publish my opinion of a lot of things.
then eventually, i learned i could earn from blogging. thankfully, i have earned some money through the years. though it is not much, well, it is a sideline. :-D
i choose B and C.
I wanted so much to promote God's glory on the net. but i didn't want inspirational stories and lessons i have learned to be included in my blog of reviews. i wanted to segment my blogs. and that when they come to flowersbythewayside, they will find it a haven of inspiration. hence this blog. this is not an earning blog--purely a blog that seeks to get people to know different facets of a Christian's journey. and how God presents Himself in different circumstances.
when i got married, i decided to have another blog that documents milestones in my marriage. hence this blog.
so for this issue, i choose C. :-D
Nice start Car!.. Keep it up! =)
this is an interesting site beth. keep it up.:)
I choose C. I blog simply to put my thoughts into words. It's very therapeutic and personal for me. Anyone is free to read them and people can comment if they wish. My blogs usually sprout from certain phases in my life and once in a while i go back and read them to see whether i've changed or remained the same since that time.
thanks all you guys for the support... mwah! =)
I chose C, followed (several weeks later by A)
I started blogging after losing my job. I decided that rather than sitting on my bum all day at my pc just zooming round the internet I could turn my creative talents to freelance writing and earn some money.
In order to write blog entries for other people I needed to know how blogs and blogging worked, so I set up a few. I love my personal one best of all as it gives me a way of expressing my views on what is happening out there in the big wide world, but I have now expanded my ideas and have a few more sites set up as potential money earners.
I am really enjoying blogging and never seem to be short of ideas to write about for my persoanl blog, so much so that unless a news story catches my eye I have the ideas for my entries for the rest of the week sorted out.
I started blogging because I moved to Korea and wanted a way for all of my friends and family to follow what I was up to. More than that, I just like writing.
I choose C...I too am very new to the blogging world but I started so that I could let everybody in our extended family have a chance to see what we have going on in our life...with 3 kids we are VERY busy so trying to keep grandparents, aunts, uncles up to date with the kids is not an esy task...i thought this was a nice gift to give them.
But I also like to get comments....and love to read about other peoples adventures!!!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!!!!
C was the original reason I started to blog. I wanted to have a colourful record of all the fun times I have in my life, and I've found it easier to motivate myself to blog than to keep a personal diary as it's good to be able to feel that your sharing your experiences with people. I do enjoy receiving comments though as its nice to share experiences and I love to discover other blogs and read about other people's lives too.
I just started blogging because I needed a creative outlet and because I am a stay-at-home mom that needed some kind of contact with the grown-up world. I used to publish a zine (a kind of homemade magazine) after college and it was a fun and creative outlet for me. I'm not doing it for money (though if something came to me via blogging that would be awesome!!!!) but for my own creative needs. The comments and feedback are pretty cool too and definitely helps to keep you posting new posts. I just started too so I'm anxious to see how long I can keep this up and where it takes me!
I choose C; other. I have been on Livejournal for years and there I blog mostly to stay in touch with friend that are also on Livejournal. I also discovered it's a great way to go back and check the dates on things if you don't remember them. Especially if you post a lil something everyday about your activities. I just recently discovered Blogger and I am loving it! I just learned about an "earning potential" today by reading your blog. I'm curious to watch your progression and happy to answer more of your surveys. Best of luck & enjoy your Monday.
I CHOOSE C.
I started blogging as a way to journal in order to encourage myself. I found that I encourage others too. That is very satisfying.
Thanks for visiting my blog. :)
C and B
I used to keep a journal each day. I took to blogging like I used to journal. I do it to fully flesh out things I'm going through or thinking about, especially in regards to going through fertility issues. But I do enjoy a good comment or response. I like knowing people are actually reading what I'm writing, that it's useful to someone. I hope someone reads from my site and wants to talk about a book development.
Meili Lo--what a fun blog! Thanks for sharing it with me. I'd have to say A & B both satisfy me, as well as the personal satisfaction of writing daily for the first time ever.
Good luck with your fun blog!
God bless,
Beth (The One Minute Writer)
I choose B & C. This has been a great outlet for my thoughts & doing the NaBloPoMo has been a great motivator to write everyday!
Also loving the feedback & encouragment from readers comments! they inspire me to do better.
Thanx for your comment btw!
I choose C. I started a blog for the simple fact that my family lives so far away and I wanted them to be included in my daughter's life. Posting pictures and videos of her allows them to see her grow and learn new things. They love it, and I love doing it.
I chose B. I love to read what people have to say in response to my blog but sadly I don't get many comments. (The only comments I tend to get our from my friends who read my blog.)
I don't think it would ever come to the point of earning money, I'm definitely not a dooce.
(www.dooce.com - is the blog I read every day, but beware she can somtimes be inappropriate and she doesn't have the same religous and politcal views as I do. She makes like 50,000 a year from her blog alone.)
Anyway, I think I will have a lot more to write about (like most blogs on here) once I get married and have a family. sniff...sniff...
Hello there, thanks for the encouragement. I choose c, because whilst A would be nice and B could be nice, my C is the freedom it gives me. The chance to express myself and know that whether it is followed or not or makes money or doesn't or commented upon or not these factors don't have to stop me blogging. Quite simply I can so I do and it fulfills me. Toots
Never thought of making money from blogs. Could put ads on it I suppose but I have certain aesthetic stds and the ads would clash with them. Mainly the blogs provide a creative outlet and an emotional outlet, a chance to let off steam on some issue. (My main blog is largely steam free - I save my venting for the sex, religion and politics blogs. If you don't want to share my views on these subjects stay with A Curate's Egg - it's gentle and harmless. Like me.)
Other - I blog because I've got an active mind and I like to transpose my thoughts into words otherwise they end up rattling around my brain and keeping me awake. I like comments too though, because that's how I've found out about other blogsites that I like.
