GOT A TITLE FOR THIS?

SHE WRITES:

I'd like to thank French Fancy for this website that she posted in her blog.

I remember when I was in high school, we had this kind of test in our reading class where the teacher asked us to read an article and at the end, we would have to think of a fitting title for it. Well, that's similar to what what we'll do today, hihi... But don't worry, I won't ask you to read an article, but rather watch a very short and nicely done video. To give you an idea, it's a painting :o) It'll only take a few seconds to load and a few seconds to view so no hassles, click away!

Got a title for THIS VIDEO? Tell us about it...

A. Yes I do...
B. No I don't, I'll just go with the original title (KS)
C. Others (pls. specify)

And to view more of these cards, pls. visit my other blog Anything. Something. Everything.

DO YOU LIKE YOUR NAME?

SHE WRITES:

Yes I do - I like all my names. My real name is Elizabeth Rose, my nickname is Maricar and my Chinese name is Meili. Different groups call me differently - my classmates call me by my real name; my family, relatives, church and workmates call me by my nickname; and in the blogging world and to some Chinese friends I use my Chinese name (because they can't pronounce my other names). However, I have friends who literally despise the sound of their real names so they came up with another one for people around to use when referring to them and the only time they use their real names is when they need to sign legal papers or documents. I also came across this site What Not to Name Your Baby and the blogger lists down some of the unheard names - at least for me. Reading his blog made me smile but it also made me wonder how people feel about their names - in other parts of the globe.

I like checking out what names mean so for my son, we named him ELISHA JOEY (Elisha means double portion, a prophet in the Bible + Joey his father's name meaning he will enlarge). In the olden times they believe your name has so much to do with your destiny. Hopefully my son will like it when he's old enough to understand his name... Just in case he won't, he can always introduce himself as EJ... hihi.

How about you? Do you like your name?
A. Yes, I like my name
B. No, I dislike my name

SHOULD WE COMMENT ON THE COMMENT?

SHE WRITES:

Yesterday was the 30th day of shewrites, and for those 30 days, I've been wondering if I should comment on the comments of those who commented on my blog :o) I've visited around some of your blogs and I've seen 3 kinds of bloggers and I don't know which one is best:

Type A: comments 100% on those who comment. If she gets 5 comments from the readers, she has another 5 comments to either say thanks or whatsoever. So if I get 50 comments from the readers, I'll have to make another 50 to address all of them in my post... which will give me no time to visit and comment on other's posts...

Type B: doesn't comment at all... for the past I belong here. I don't comment on my posts, but I do visit your blogs and post comments there. But there are some of you who ask questions on my posts and I want to answer them, but sometimes I forget the answer the moment I visit your blog and comment on your post.

Type C: comments only on some of the comments, particularly those who ask questions. But I wonder if it offends those unacknowledged comments. Like if I get 18 comments, I comment on let's say 5 people - will it leave the other 13 hurt because it seemed like I didn't acknowledge their responses?

So to make it safe on everyone, I don't usually post comments on my blog's post as reaction to my readers comments... Although I really would like to do so because it appears to be like a discussion also and interactive. But afraid that if I don't do it on 100% of the comments, I might offend someone... So help me out fellow bloggers :o)

Should we comment on the comment?
A. Yes (like type A? or C?)
B. No like type B
C. Others (pls. specify)

Oh, and if you're the commenter on my post, do you usually comeback to see if I reacted on your comments?

IS GROWING OLD A GOOD THING OR A BAD ONE?

taken Dec. 10, 2007(taken Dec. 10, 2008) Surely, growing old is one of the best things in life :o)
SHE WRITES:

Oh well, I'm writing this post because it's actually my birthday today, hihi :o) While chatting with my friends and relatives as I thanked them for their greeting, I tell them, "it's so good to be 18 again"... To me that was just my way of having a fun conversation. However, someone commented that he doesn't understand while people keep denying their age. Hmmm...

I'm actually not denying my age, I'm 31 incase you're wondering... And for me, I just take it that I'm a year older than last year and compared to being 30, I think there's no difference except for the fact that on my birthday last year, I was sexy while now, I have a swollen belly :o) but with someone really precious inside. Although I wouldn't call it "Growing Old", maturing is a good thing because I gain wisdom as I age. I'm growing up I should say... But I don't know how long I'll like "maturing" :o) I read that "Beauty when you're young is because of your youth, but beauty after 40 is the TRUE beauty of a woman." So I'm actually curious how I'd be at that age... But I always dream and work on GROWING OLD GRACEFULLY and STAYING YOUNG AT HEART :o)

How about you? Is growing old a good thing or a bad one?

A. It's definitely a good thing
B. It's obviously not good
C. Others (pls. specify)

R U A HEALTH BUFF?

SHE WRITES:

I actually don't know how to answer this question :o) I think I'm just 50-50. I do take supplements and surely spend a lot of money for this, I do like reading about healthy eating and stuff , I do drink plenty of water and I do use Olive Oil for my husband's food (only for him, Canola Oil for me and my son) as it is very expensive here in China. However, I don't really count the calories of my food intake, I don't like vegetables although I eat a few kinds and I don't forbid my son from enjoying french fries and burgers but I limit it to once a week only. My weakness is my sweet teeth - yes, I just don't have sweet tooth, I have TEETH!!! I love chocolates, cakes and ice cream. Not really that I crave for them, but when they're around, I just have to have some :o) So I guess I'm a 50-50? hihi... Not even sure about that!

How about you? R U a health buff?

A. Yes I am...
B. No, I'm not

WHAT'S YOUR TYPICAL DAY LIKE?

SHE WRITES:

I'd like to thank Lee for this topic suggestion :o) Guess he, like me, wants to find out what each of us are doing...So here's mine.

My weekends are the busiest days of my week because both my husband and my son are at home - no work and no class. We usually wake up later than usual, eat lunch at home and take a nap after that. Grocery day is Saturday and on Sunday, we have home church after lunch and anything goes after that.

I work part time on weekdays...I teach English in a Manufacturing firm and my students are the supervisors, managers and the general managers of TDG. There are times they're crazy busy so our class gets cancelled :o) But if I do work, I only work 2-4 hours each day... This job is really a blessing because it allows me to earn but at the same time, prioritize my family. If my son is sick, like right now, I can just tell them I can't have the class this week 'cos I need to take care of my son.

My days are very flexible and I like it that way... I earn but not at the expense of sacrificing my family.

How about you? What's your typical day like?

STINGY OR THRIFTY?

SHE WRITES:

I'm often confused what's the difference between a stingy person and a thrifty one. I don't know what's the line that separated the 2 kinds of persons. I'll give you a case and from there, you tell me why you say it's being thrifty or why it's being stingy.

Person A is pregnant and all her pants are too tight on the waistline because of her bulging tummy but she decides not to buy new ones thinking that after her pregnancy, she won't be able to use her clothes that often. So what she does is simply wear it, open the button and zipper (to prevent it from falling she uses a belt), and wears long blouses to hide that unpleasant look :o)
Stingy or Thrifty?

Person B was very, very hungry. She went to an eatery and found out that the food costs 5 times the food in the restaurant near her house. However, from where she was and where the restaurant was would take about 20 minutes travel and she was already having a headache due to hungry. But because she's thrifty or stingy, she decided to travel 20 minutes and ate at that place where the food was cheaper. She had a good meal but almost fainted when she had her meal.

Help me out here guys...
