HOW OFTEN DO YOU WALK IN THE PARK?

I like walking in the park, but I seldom have the chance to do it here in China. There are a lot of parks here but I have no one to walk with because my husband works whole day and it's very cold at night, especially now it's winter. BUT when I was in Bacolod (my hometown) my in-laws and I did it about 3-4x each week. It started in 2005 when I was 5 months pregnant with EJ - we walked almost every night - yep, after dinner. The "tradition" went on until EJ came out - that was the same park where we trained him how to walk and run :o) I loved doing it with mama Mary and papa William (my in-laws) and I miss it very much. It's actually one of the things I'm looking forward to next year because I'll stay with them a couple of months before I give birth until probably July next year. We will definitely have those walking in the park thing because EJ likes feeding the fish in the pond and I like bonding with mama and papa while walking :o) After the walk, we end up buying donuts or eating desserts somewhere, hihi...

Oh, just an add-on... In case it was raining, we went to the malls and we walked there :o) Then we end up buying something...whatever that something was! So my mother in law used to say, it's always better to walk in the park... hihi.

R U A WORKAHOLIC?

I know that I used to be workaholic when I was single. Used to work overtime everyday, worked until 12 midnight if there were shipments that were urgent and even 24 hours straight when something went wrong with a very important customer's goods. However, I kinda reduced that stressful life when I got married. But when I started handmade beaded jewelry business while at work, my husband and I would stay up 'til 3am doing them and wake up at 6:30am to go to work... Did that on weekdays and just take a full day sleep on weekends. When I had my son, I decided not to work in a manufacturing environment because it demanded so much time. However, when I started teaching, I did the same thing - stayed up late to study or make my lessons. When I got hooked with Photoshop (editing pictures), I'd stay until 4am doing it. Now that I'm blogging, I think about what topics to post that I sometimes wake up middle of the night thinking about it... I don't know if you call that workaholic or addict... :o) One thing I'm sure - whatever I put my mind and heart into, I will work at it to the point of exhaustion. Does that make me a workaholic or something else??? Oh, but there are times I'm just too lazy to do anything at all...

WHO INFLUENCED YOU THE MOST?

I will only deal with one aspect and that is who made the greatest contribution when it comes to my self confidence - I would say my dad. I used to be very shy (people who personally know me will doubt this statement, but really, I was - shy). During parties, I would ask my dad to get my food because I was so shy to go near the table and be seen by a lot of people. However, in one of the parties we attended Papa (how I call my dad) asked me to look at everyone else from a distance and asked me what's the difference with those people getting their food and me hiding on my seat. He asked if I had a nose, ears, eyes and etc. I said YES to all of his questions... Then he pointed out that there's nothing to be ashamed of because I'm no different - I eat what they eat and I have what they have. On and on he went telling me that I have a pretty face and a very nice smile so I shouldn't hide :o) Very simple words but to my innocent mind - it was a lesson I remembered my whole life. Whenever I feel ugly or unsure of myself, I'd think of my dad - that he sees me pretty and that he thinks I'm smart and talented and on and on - then all my insecurities go away.

Now, my husband and some really close friends always tell me I'm shameless :o) I don't know if it's a nice comment or a bad one because it's actually one trait Joey wants our kids to have - unashamed! hihi...

As you can see, I have 5 of them - and i love having them in my life. My brothers gave me love and guidance - there are things I told my brothers and not my parents - like my first broken heart and my first boy friend. My parents were unaware but I cried with my brothers... I love my sister too. I love the fact that she sees me as her role model when it comes to almost everything. We share clothes and we sleep late just talking and talking.

They're all in the Philippines and I'm the only one away from home. I miss spending Dec. 24th with them because we have exchange gifts. So even if I'm here, we're still included in our family Christmas party. We don't spend new years together because 5 of us are already married so we use that time to spend with our partner's families :o) My parents are empty nests so they just choose which family they want to join every new year. I just miss them soooo much...
