WHAT'S THE STORY BEHIND YOUR GIFT?

SHE WRITES:

We're still in the spirit of the gift giving season so this post is about memorable gifts...either gift that you have received or you have given to someone. It could be the most expensive or the cheapest - doesn't matter, as long as when you think of gifts, you remember that particular thing.

For my case, I remember a white dress that "Santa" gave me when I was a child. That was the last Christmas I believed in Santa because my mom made a comment that revealed Santa's identity :o) I can still remember what she said... "How did you manage to get the perfect fit?" then I saw my papa's face turned RED as he silenced my mom but saw me looking at them! hihi... He then just gave me a hug and said "Don't tell your brothers, ok?" I agreed so the following Christmas, I went shopping with him and helped in wrapping the gifts.

How about you? What's the story behind your memorable Christmas gift?
A. The story is...
B. No memorable gift
C. Others (pls. specify)

I really don't have any one memorable gift but I do have lots of moments :)

home made gifts mean so much to me

this year my niece made me a fuzzy, warm, cozy throw for the sofa

I also love photos, cards, mixed CDs - anything with a personal touch

If not for the Christmas parties that we're holding at school every year, I'd never receive a gift from anyone. (Yeah. Cruel truth.)

(And, yeah, we SHOULD give a gift to someone in the class.)

(It's required. FORTUNATELY.)

But it's the 'giftless' Christmas that I enjoy the most. 'Cause, since I don't usually receive something during this time of the year, it's like as if it's an artifact when someone gives me a gift; it's gonna be so precious to me...

A few years ago when my 2 sons were 19yrs & 23yrs, we gave them each a laptop computer & they were just so shocked that we would spend that much on them! It was so fun to see their surprise & very real gratitude.

At Christmas we got one or two gifts. Money was tight and even tighter with six chldren. I guess my delight in Christmas gift giving came to me after I had a child and seeing the wonder and delight in her eyes.

hi!

i have lots of memorable gifts throughout the years. but i think my most recent would be the gift of having our first child. it is not easy for me to get pregnant. so i am sooo thankful. just like hannah in the bible, i had to plead to have this baby.

and thank God! He answered us. :-)

Oddly, I cannot really remember incredibly memoriable gifts that I received. I think when I was younger the year I got my Cabbage Patch doll was awesome as they were the "it" gifft that particular year. And this year is probably my mose memorable gift . . . I got a fire engine red Kitchen-Aid mixer. And I have been wanting one of those for the longest time. In fact, I think this year was the best year in terms of gifts - receiving and giving.

Mmm... I can't think of any Christmas gift sticking out in my memory. We didn't have Santa in my house so there was never that moment of disillussionment. I remember when I was about 3 or 4 getting this large clear plastic telephone filled with sweets. I loved making pretend phone calls and eating the sweets. I got a playmat made by my mother that year as well. I LOVED it. It had velvet fields and satan rivers and fake fur bridges. I still have it.
