SHE WRITES:
June 9, 2000 I called my mom and dad and told them 2 things:
1. Happy Anniversary!!! - mom's reaction: "Thank you! Later your dad & I will have a date"
2. I'm at the hospital and in a little while I'll have my operation - appendectomy :-) - mom's reaction: "Oh my! I have to go there, who will take care of you "...on and on and on. hihi... She was a bit hysterical.
Maybe for some it's not a major thing, but for someone like me who's always been her mother's little girl (until now actually) and my first time miles away from home with no relatives at all - that was such a big thing for my mom. This explains why she was hysterical :-)
Well, that's my scar... I requested for a bikini cut during my operation because I wanted to wear bikini for my honeymoon not exposing the scar! And so I did! hihi...
Oh, if you're wondering who took care of me after the operation? It was my boyfriend (my husband now), my manager and some workmates. They took turns in taking a leave off work to be there at the hospital for me. My operation may not have been a pleasant incident but it brought memories & people I'll never forget...and will be always be grateful they were there.

I am possibly the only person in the world who has managed to sever a tendon in his foot while making marmalade. Full story here.
As a consequence I have a zigzag scar on the bottom of my foot where the fixed the severed nerve. They never fixed the tendon.
Also, having been a boy once, I have about six scars on my hands from various exploits with pocket knives and other such sharp things!
A - I have a few. I've had 2 knee surgeries which left quite a scar on my knee. Battle scars, right?
Hey--sorry I haven't visited for a few days. We've all gotten sick and then there was the holiday so I'm a bit behind on everything.
I do have two scars. One is my c-section scar from when I had my son. When I look at it, I can't believe it is as small as it is and that he was able to come out that way.
My second scar is on my leg and was from when I was burned as a child. Apparently I fell into a kerosene lantern when I was young and burnt myself. I don't remember that this happening at all. It isn't a traditional scar but more of a white area of skin that never tans. Strange.
Yes, I have a few battle scars. One on the back of my head is the biggest. You can only see it when my hair is clipped really short. It was a little terrier bitch who decided she didn't like me:( I was only a pup at the time. Mum has quite a few scars 'cause she's had quite a few operations. Uncle Hugh's got quite a few too. He used to play Rugby when he was at University and apparently those Rugby guys are a tad rough.
I do have a scar; on my right knee; I fell down while working our first corgi and had to get 8 stitches; at the age of 42 was the first time I needed stitches. the scar is fading over time
betty
I have tons of scars! Most of them are from crashing into things/falling off things when I was little, some of them are from pets (we have had dogs, cats and rabbits), one is from an operation to remove a mole from my arm (turned out to be benign) and one is from removing a ganglion from my wrist!
I thank you Meili lo, for your compliment, I've
visited your blog it's a great Idea, Rich Contents. God bless.
I'm one of your followers now!..
By the way, the scars on the skin some times, give a beauty touch and we have it for a good reson and it will be soon healed, but the scars in the heart, so ugly and it comes from life and pain not from a surgery, and it will never be healed.
Regards.
David.
Yes, I have a nice big scar on my left knee. I've had five surgeries on it. At the age of 20 years old, I had my ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) replaced with one of my hamstrings.
I was pretty accident prone as a child, so have quite a few scars from that. The biggest scar I have is from when they removed a cyst I had on the duct that leads from your liver to your intestine, but the most interesting scar I have is from when I fell UP (yes, that's right) the stairs and landed on a jar of peanut butter that was in my hand. I was running up the stairs after supper in the boarding house, with my glass jar of peanut butter in my hand. My foot misjudged where the next step up was and hit it instead of landing on it. I fell towards the higher stairs (of which there was only one or two) and put my hands out to stop my fall. Of course that meant the glass jar was between my hand and the floor... After I fainted from loss of blood the school nurse phoned the emergency section at the hospital to find out if she could bring me in! Turns out I severed the Ulna nerve and artery... That hand is always slightly weaker than my other one, and there are a couple of movements it won't do by itself but nothing serious. I do have permanent pins and needles across half of the hand, but I am so used to it now!
Oh, the school make a rule after that : No glass containers allowed for food items we keep for use at meals! And they served peanut butter at breakfast the next morning...
Morning to you. At least it is in the U.S.
I have several scars. One is on the back of my right leg. I was playing on the roof of a garage with friends as a child and fell off the ladder into a bush. Punctured my leg and needed lots of stiches.
My other scars are related to surgeries for endometriosis, but the one across my abdomen has been cut through two more times for c-sections to deliver my two boys.
I agree with David that the scars of the heart usually take longer to heal, unless we let Jesus heal them. Jesus is the Healer of ALL scars.
Just little ones from scrapes and scratches. So far, I never had major surgery. Luck so Far...

I have a small scar on the back of my calf from a barbed wire fence that caught me. Took ages to heal.
Thanks for the visit, Meili,
My latest scar (removal of appendix, etc. etc.) curves around my belly button like a fern.
Something to blog about perhaps...
Just dropping by to say thank you for visiting my journal and for the sweet comments you left.
'On Ya'-ma
hmmmm...i am not a scarring person throughout my body, but i am with my face. so the scars i have are pimple scars. lol but thank God, that's all there are. ;-)
i did have a scar once on my knee that took a long time to heal. but now it is gone. i got it when i was four years and the dark circle lasted several years. i got it when i stumbled on a cement pavement, trying to get a glimpse of former First Lady Imelda Marcos. i was 4 years old and star struck. lol
hmmm...nothing on the body...even my allergies don't leave scars even after scratching them so much. more on my face. and i have a slice on my chin because when i was 2, i pretended to be wonderwoman and jumped off the stairs. lol
day can you possibly leave comments on these 3? thanks gid!

I have freckles. Lots and lots and lots of 'em. Malays aren't supposed to have freckles but I do. Drives all the doctors crazy....
Freckles are not scars? Oh, OK. I have a scar right above my left eyelid. Got hit by a hockey stick during training.
Blood was gushing all over my t-shirt. My team captain started panicking. I was fine after I found out I wasn't blinded.
Only 2 stitches for it. The med assistant stitched me up. Without any buse. Cool, huh?
Since I have the skin of a prince, I get a multitude of scars every time something sharp prickles it.
And it's annoying. A lot.
(Would you imagine getting a scar from a deadly scratch made by a rabbit?
Heck yeah I have so many scars... i was such a tomboy when I was a kid! :) Loved climbing fences, trees, berry/fruit picking (especially if it grew in the neighbors garden! :)
But I love all my scars, except for one! I have a scar on my back which keeps reminding me of a time I got attacked by a stranger when I was walking the dog... pushed me to the ground and I fell on some metal thing, thankfully someone was coming on the path and this guy ran away, I never tell this to anyone, but thank you for your post, its good to have it out.
About ten years ago I was having terrible neck pain. I went through all kinds of therapy for it, to no avail. It was so painful at times that I was walking around like a robot, afraid to move.
I was referred to a specialist that walked into the room like the king he perceived himself to be. I was humbled because I had heard really good things about this young doctor.
After a brief exam he told me he was going to give me an injection in my neck down by my shoulder. Nothing to worry about, nothing there but muscle and bone. Poke.
He told me to sit for a few minutes then I could get dressed and leave.
I started feeling a pain in the middle of my back and after a few minutes I realized that there was no way I could get dressed.
The nurse came in to check on me and hurried out to get the doctor.
To make a long story not so long...he told me he lied about there being nothing there but muscle and bone. Sometimes your lung can reach up into the shoulder area as well. He accidentally punctured my lung!
Ambulance ride to the hospital, oxygen, and a chest tube inserted into my chest to try to reinflate my lung, and so the scar.
Bizarre end to a normal day!
Thanks for visiting my blog- I do have scars. Behind my ear, inside my mouth, and c-section(s) !!! Unfortunately, I've needed several surgeries. No appendectomy yet! :)
Jen
NO, I don't unless you count one I cannot see after giving birth...lol
So far I have no major scars. Only minor ones here and there. None of them have good stories attached to them. :)
Hi Meili,
Thanks for visiting my Lost In The Flowers blog. Its always nice when someone leaves a note that they were there.
I never really thought about it much but I have lots of scars. One from C-section birth - not a pretty thing 30 years ago. One from tripping over the door sill with the cat's food dish in my hand. That one was colossal ... 108 stitches. I was in high school. I can still remember sitting on the floor looking at everything inside the palm of my hand before the blood started coming.
Then there is the spider web of scars on the backs of both of my hands. Through the years of being a farm kid and then a full time gardener, I guess I collected a lot of little injuries. I never noticed all the scars until the last couple of years. Must be the aging of the skin that brings them out.
I'll have to come back by again. I like your blog. It's different than a lot of them I visit. One never knows what will pop up on Lost In The Flowers. I hope you'll visit again someday.
Tammy
