SHE WRITES:
My sister-in-law poshpost suggested this topic because I think her computer is situated in a weird location - dining area. hihi... But she said she likes it there because her room is really hot. She just likes it there =D As for me, my computer is in my bedroom. I have a desktop with a 19" monitor so there are times my husband and I watch movies in the comforts of our room. There are nights we download stuff from the net and we leave it running overnight. But sometimes in the middle of the night, my husband wakes up to check if the downloading's done. If it is, he turns the computer off and goes back to sleep - that way we don't waste electricity. =D
How about you? Where do you place your computer?

Our computer is in our family room which is downstairs. We have a desk area built in on one side of the room. Someday I'll get a laptop so I can use it anywhere!
Our computer is in our living room. Mainly for the phone/internet jack. I have a "all in one" printer and I use the fax machine more frequently that I expected. Idealy, our computer would be in our office. As we both have business from home, I think that a room separate from the living areas is more conducive for working.
Mine moves with me. I hate to be stationary. For the most part it's on my study desk, but for instance at the current moment my computer is on my sofa.
I have a separate study and the computer lives there. Earlier this year I was travelling (inc China!) and using a laptop on the road. I sometimes still use it as I can go and sit in the garden with it. (Sorry Mari!)
Other: Mum's house is quite open-plan with different levels. One level she calls the 'study' level. The computer is there - it's a laptop on a big desk next to a big window. Uncle Hugh has another laptop on a table behind mum's desk.
Other: Our computer is in the living room. I'm in school and I spend most evenings doing homework, which requires the computer. It used to be in our bedroom, but we started to feel like we never saw each other. So, I moved in to the living room!
Theoretically having a laptop means u can type away wherever u want. Well, most of the time my laptop's wired in my living room, specifically on the dining table because that's where the telephone and modem wires are.
Cuddle with my laptop in bed. Sometimes Hubby grumbles and so laptop gets put up and cuddle with Hubby.
Our "family" computer is in the family room, which opens up into the kitchen. We found it is the most convenient place. You can talk to someone making dinner, keep someone company while they are watching TV, and quickly check on stuff without having to go upstairs. My husband's computer is in his lair in the basement...that is where he works from home sometimes and does who knows what else. Oddly enough, we keep the printer downstairs so everytime I print something, I have to get up and run down into the basement.
I keep my computer in the bedroom. I used to keep it in the family room but my kids and their friends would be on it all the time.
I use a laptop, for the most part it has overtaken the living room, but on some occasions visits the bedroom too.
As you may have realized its travels are limited coz I live in a mansion in NY! :)
My laptop goes all over the house, and to work, but it mostly lives next to my favorite chair in the living room.
Our main computer is in the Lounge/Dining area, but my laptop moves around. Usually it is either in my room or in the lounge room (so I can watch TV while I do stuff
my computer is beside the dining table. it is not by choice, but basically because it is the well lit area of the house and it near the internet connection.
i don't want it in the bedroom because i dont want work to interfere with rest time. i am a workaholic. so i couldn't stop working. hehe
Our computer is in our bedroom because we don't have a place for it anywhere else. It's not getting much use though, because we have no internet at the moment. So I go to my mother's house and use her's. It's in her spare room/office.
:)
