DO YOU WANT TO GET RICH?

SHE WRITES:

Ooops, this is not a scam. I'm not here to promote a get rich quick concept. I simply just want to know if you want to or not =D Most people would probably say yes, but I know someone who doesn't want to. She actually came from a wealthy family but she blames her family's wealth for the chaos in their household. Her brothers go their separate ways because each one has a car, her parents go their separate ways as well because they're too busy doing their thing and she's left all alone at home most of the time. This topic was raised in one of our discussions and she said that someday, when she has her own family, she wouldn't want to get rich... Inspite this story, I want to get rich. I want to help my parents pay off their debt, I want all my children, nieces and nephews to go to school, and I want to help pastors live a better life. I love to give and if I have more, I belive I can give a whole lot more than what I'm giving now... A friend once told us if he were rich, he would buy an airplane for the church so that missionaries don't have to worry where to get the money to pay for their tickets.

How about you? Do you want to get rich?

A. Yes, because...
B. No, because...
C. Others (pls. specify)

YOU WRITE:

A. Yes, because...

B. No, because...

C. Others (pls. specify)

I would have to say "C"...other...because I think it depends on your definition of "rich". I may not be monetarily rich, but I am rich because of my Heavenly Father. The wealth of His love, mercy, and grace is worth more than any amount of money. So do I want to be rich..."A"....yes because I want to be rich in Christ Jesus!

I would like 2 be rich enough to make people realize that God has already made us rich enough! Rich enough to follow our dreams and become whatever we desire.

Congratulations on the baby!
MY answer would be C. I think if I ever got a lot of money I would want to pay off my house, then give the rest away. I've seen what happens to people who have a lot. Many of them have so many problems related to money. I like what you other readers have to say!

Having studied wellbeing last year I can tell you that, once you have enough money to cover essentials (food, shelter & health), money has little effect on happiness. There needs to be a compromise between earning enough to live and leaving enough time to live.

C - I have a mum who loves me, a warm, dry house to live in, I have more than enough food, I get walked and played with and I'm happy. I'm already rich.

I didn't know you were having a puppy - congratulations! When it's born, are you keeping it after 8 weeks or letting it go to a nice home? My doggy mum kept me for 8 weeks then I went to current mum (hate to tell you, it's all downhill after the eight week stage)

I wouldn't say I want to be rich, but it would be nice to have enough money to not have to worry about debt, and to be able to help others

Congratulations about the life inside you that is growing :) It's a real miracle.

I would answer C because well I want all my needs and wants covered and some to help others as well.

I found you at your sis-in-laws blog posh post and I am celebrating my blog 1 year anniversary and I would like to invite you to join my giveaway. Details here. Thanks see you there!

I just want to have enough money to do what I want in life without having to worry all the time like go on frequent vacations with my family, buy any book that interests me, get any cool item for my loved ones that I know they would like, be able to send my son to any college he might want, that kind of stuff.

By the way, I gave you an award. You can pick it up at http://mrsfligs.blogspot.com/2008/11/id-like-to-thank-academy.html. I did this last night and forgot the most important part-- telling you!

Rich . . . interesting concept. But, to me, money changes people, and not always for the best. For your blog purposes and well, in general, I'd have to say "C." I'd like to be comfortable enough where debt wasn't an issue and I'd be able to take care of my father's needs until his time comes. I'd like to be comfortable enough so that my future spouse and I could focus on raising our children rather than stressing about work so that there's enough money in the bank. But that's monetary rich. To me, being rich would also have to include happiness. And truly, I am rich in that area and want that only to continue. There isn't enough money in the world that can buy happiness.

Congratulations on the baby!

Congratulations on your baby! What a wonderful time in your life. I have to agree with most of the other comments already made. Monetary riches may make some things easier monthly bills etc. However the true happiness so many want to achieve has absolutely nothing to do with money. I feel extremley wealthy to wake up in a home filled with backpacks, shoes on the floor and sleepy little hugs from my boys. To me that is true wealth.

Congratulations! Everyone around me seems to have a little miracle in them! Seriously.

Getting rich,I write:

Yes.

BUT, yes there is a BUT.
- I have the confidence that I will use it as a means to the end. e.g. I would like not having to worry HOW I can make the trip to explore Zimbabwe or Egypt, or then be able to open an institution for women/children and a shelter for dogs too, something I wouldn't be able to do otherwise.
- Go to school without worrying about loans
- Visit my family that lives far away everytime I am homesick, and for family functions
- Buy anything my family needs, even though they may not need it from me.
- And yes, buy people gifts!! I love buying gifts for friends, but right now I cant do it as much as I want as expenses have to be managed! :)

So I guess the bottom line is if you are my friend and even if you dont support my other causes, BUT you like receiving gifts, hope that I become tres rich! :)

I'd love to be rich. I believe that if you have money you should spread it around. If I had the money I'd setup my own charity foundation.

But then again, this is just the aspirations of a person who doesn't have the amount of money she'd like to have.

Who knows if I'd actually do the things I planned to do. Money changes people.

I don't want to be rich.

I want to be able to take care of the necessities like food, bills, gas and things without worrying where that money will come from.

I've never had good luck with wealthy people. And besides, if you have enough for what you really need what else could you want? But that's just me.

Although, in 18 years, it would be nice to have the ability to put my baby through college.

I want to be comfortable, have bills that a paid off, and not have to worry about the future. I was poor as a child, but we did not know it.....I am definatly not rich, porbably will never be.

hi! yeah, of course, i would want to get rich. for now, i share whatever i can, with what little i have. so i can only imagine what i can share when i have more! :-)

there are so many things that i wanna do. and a lot of them entail money. but for now, i don't let myself be hampered with money or the lack of it in order to bring help and bless others who are in need.

but more money would mean more blessings to share, too. :-)

yup! some more would not hurt. and i sure know where i would put the extra money when i have it. :-)

yes, because the whole "money splitting up the family" thing kinda depends doesnt it? i wouldnt really blame it on the fact that the family is wealthy. the money could be used as a means to bring the family together too, like holidays and stuff like that.
more money would a whole lot of things a whole lot easier, as long as its handled well i guess.
