IS GROWING OLD A GOOD THING OR A BAD ONE?

taken Dec. 10, 2007(taken Dec. 10, 2008) Surely, growing old is one of the best things in life :o)
SHE WRITES:

Oh well, I'm writing this post because it's actually my birthday today, hihi :o) While chatting with my friends and relatives as I thanked them for their greeting, I tell them, "it's so good to be 18 again"... To me that was just my way of having a fun conversation. However, someone commented that he doesn't understand while people keep denying their age. Hmmm...

I'm actually not denying my age, I'm 31 incase you're wondering... And for me, I just take it that I'm a year older than last year and compared to being 30, I think there's no difference except for the fact that on my birthday last year, I was sexy while now, I have a swollen belly :o) but with someone really precious inside. Although I wouldn't call it "Growing Old", maturing is a good thing because I gain wisdom as I age. I'm growing up I should say... But I don't know how long I'll like "maturing" :o) I read that "Beauty when you're young is because of your youth, but beauty after 40 is the TRUE beauty of a woman." So I'm actually curious how I'd be at that age... But I always dream and work on GROWING OLD GRACEFULLY and STAYING YOUNG AT HEART :o)

How about you? Is growing old a good thing or a bad one?

A. It's definitely a good thing
B. It's obviously not good
C. Others (pls. specify)

It beats the pants off the alternative!

Note: Birthdays are good for you - the more you have, the longer you live.

Oh your joy shows in that picture! And I am excited for your baby...girl or boy?

Growing old is definitely a good thing because we'll get to realize that GOD has gifted us more years in living in HIS love.

Actually, earlier at school, a young lady confirmed if I was really 24 and I said yes, she said it's not too obvious. Maybe that's because of the clothes I wear. I like the jeans and sneakers style. Also, I believe GOD makes our hearts young (LOVE more) but minds wiser when we grow older in HIM.

With all the love in the world, HAPPY BIRTHDAY my dear friend MEILI LO! YOU ARE A BLESSING TO ME! I declare GOD's joy, peace, wisdom, discernment, anointing, spiritual and financial breakthrough, prosperity (all aspects), good health and long life for you and your family all the days of your lives!

GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ABUNDANTLY! P.U.S.H.

Happy birthday:)

Lee is so funny. He always makes me laugh. Love him:) I think that growing old is fab, as long as you have health on your side. I like being a mature dog now. When I was a pup I was cute but a bit whiney and would grumble if mum went out without me. Now I realise that it's good to have time on your own. Also, I've stopped eating stuff that makes me vomit and don't get as many tummy upsets, which pleases mum 'cause she always had to clean up the consequences:(
Mum likes growing old but she doesn't like those things called wrinkles. I don't know why. I think they decorate her face quite nicely...

It is definitely a good thing. You are right, as we mature we gain wisdom. I gave my life back to the Lord at 28, so the years after that have been the best so far. And greater things are coming.

Do you know the gender of the baby yet? the due date?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY FRIEND!

well i think it is a good thing because it is a gift from God. if ageing brings us closer to our earthly death, it brings us closer to our Heavenly Father. :-)

happy birthday!

hello!

happy birthday again!

for me it is a good thing. it only becomes bad i guess if age passes by and we have not been productive in our life's purpose.

A question for you...Are we growing old each day or just closer to the birth of our new life in heaven with Jesus?

I look at each day as one day closer to walking the streets of gold, sitting under the tree of life, and realizing many other treats that await me in heaven's home!

So growing old is never a bad thing...it's just one day closer to Him!

Happy Birthday To You!!!

I think growing older is great...the older I get (41 now ... 10 years more than you!) the more confident and relaxed I get. I think you "grow into yourself" and stop worrying so much about stuff. You also realize that you can get through the bad patches of life as you get older so it doesn't stress you out so much!

Enjoy your day!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :) And that is a very happy smile you have on your face, but no doubt, you should for many reasons, firstly of the pic you posted above your post with your soon to be baby and also it is your birthday! :)
Have a blast!

I agree with Lee that birthdays are good. It means you live longer the more you have them.

But frankly, I'm pretty comfortable with the prospect of getting older.

Yes, I am trying to preserve my health and pray that I have my mother's genes when it comes to getting older - she looks really young for her age.

But hitting the bit three-oh is pretty dreaded. I'm not gonna lie.

Happy Birthday!!

Growing old is super if you look young, and you surely do. I love Birthdays, mine and others, I guess that's the child in me.

I think it definitely helps me personally to see everyone around me moving along the same order of phases (teens, 20's, finding love, kids etc.), but at different times in our lives. I then realize that the entire world is growing old with me, and I don't want to be left behind with some newbies while my family, friends and people I love continue on the journey of life.

Well first, Happy Birthday!!!

And growing old...I have to agree with Lee, rather grow old than not. LOL. I'm a year older than you...(giving my age away :) ), but I rather enjoy it. I still get carded and everyone thinks my mom and my daughter are my sisters--something to be said for genetics eh? I have more responsibility and I'm struggling a bit more, but I also find that I am having more "real" fun the older I get. I've gotten bolder in my "old" age too. Long live I!

Enjoy your day!

I think it's a good thing! I just had a birthday and turned 48. While there are things about getting older that I don't like - they are the outward things and are really not important in the long run. The spiritual growth and the realization of what's really important does come with age and that's good.
Happy Birthday to you!

Happy. Happy Birthday! May you have many more! Like Lee says...growing older is much better than the alternative! And..I had two sisters die of cancer, when they were just 39 years old. I turned 55 years old the other day and feel entirely blessed to have made it this far, all considered. Am I concerned about the fact my body is aging...when I'd still like that face and skin I had at age 35? You betcha! So, I slather on the grease to keep that face lookin' as good as I can under the circumstances. It helps! Vanity thy name is WoMan!!! LOL! But, keep giving me those birthdays! LOL...Lisa

Happy Birthday! I hope you have a joyous day! loved the picture of your baby; imagine the Lord loving knitting him/her together in your womb (Psalm 139:13-14)

growing old is a good thing; I'm going to be 51 soon; I wish my body sometimes would cooperate like it did when I was younger and I wouldn't have the aches and pains, but I like where I am in my relationship with my Lord and the growth that has happened there. And each day gets me closer to going home to him for all eternity, so growing old is a good thing :)

Growing old, it all depends on how your health and attitude are. People go thru life and do not take care of themselves, and one day they realize that they have some chronic condition. They wonder how in the world did that happen??? Also, people who are miserable when they are old were also miserable when they were young.

Glad you are feeling better, and I am happy for your excitment about your two children.....Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday!!! I tell you what, every year is a blessing. I'm old enough to feel comfortable with who I am and what I look like. there is no way I would want to go back and re-experience my teens or 20's! In hindsight, I would redo a thing or two about raising my kids.
I'm happy for you. Not only are you happily expecting your next child, but it's your BIRTHDAY! Does it get any better than that???

I shall never grow old! Older, wiser, yes. But never OLD. I shall NEVER be an old lady. Just a silver haired sage :)

Growing old is a very good thing, & not nearly as horrible as I was led to believe. I like my age (53) & do not want to go back to any other age I've been. Desiring to do it gracefully is all about finding your joy each day!
